U14 Regional Results
June 29 - The Bavarian U14 team reached the Midwest Regional semi-finals and were matched against Eclipse from Illinois. Within the first 10 minutes the Eclpise capitalized on some defensive errors and scored off of a corner to take a 1-0 lead. They doubled their lead off of a very questionable free-kick to take a 2-0 lead into the half. The Bavarians had a few chances to pull one back in the second half only to have the Eclipse seal the game with their third goal. Final score - Bavarians 0 Eclipse 3. The Bavarians finished in 3rd Place in the Midwest Regional Tournament, the best showing for a Bavarian youth time in over 15 years.

June 28 - The Bavarian U14 Team played their third and final bracket game of the Midwest Regional Tournament vs Vardar from Michigan.  The game had very few chances on either side as the Bavarians tried to conserve as much energy as possible for tomorrows regional semi-final.  The final score was Bavarians 0 - Vardar 0.  The Bavarians finished with 7 points and won Group D.

The Bavarians now move on to the Regional Semi-finals tomorrow where they face Eclipse from Illinois.  The other regional semi-final is Carmel Indiana vs Cincinnati Jr. Cup Crew Gold.

June 27 - The Bavarian U14 Team played their second game of the Midwest Regional Tournament against Ambassadors from Ohio North.  The game couldnt have started out any better with a hand ball called in the box within the first seven minutes of the game.  The penalty kick was converted by Jack Menard.  Looking to extend their lead the Bavarians kept the pressure on and scored a second before the half on a corner kick converted by Danny Jarosz.  The score remained 2-0 until the 60th minute when Quinn English sealed the victory off of another Jackson Weiss corner.  The Bavarians complete bracket play tomorrow when they face Vardar of Michigan.

June 26 - The Bavarian U14 Team opened up regional play today vs Lou Fusz from Missouri. The Bavarians started out quick scoring in the 4th minute, by Quinn English. Lou Fusz scored and tied it up 1-1 before the half. Lou Fusz scored again in the beginning of the second half to go up 2-1 with 15 minutes to go. Bavarians went right into action changing formations looking for the tying goal. They were rewarded when Josh Short scored off of a Quinn English cross. Bavarians kept the pressure up looking for the winner and got it 10 minutes before the end when Josh Boris finished off a great passing sequence. Final score Bavarians 3 Lou Fusz 2. Tomorrow at 9:30 am the Bavarians play Ambassadors from Ohio North.

Bavarian U14 go Back-Back at State Cup
6-6-10 - The Bavarian U14 Team went through bracket play last weekend without conceding a goal.  In the semi-finals, they were paced by Isaac Schlenker's two goals defeating Mequon United 2-1.  In the finals they played FC Milwaukee, a re-match of last years 2-1 victory for the boys in Blue.  The game was scoreless after regulation and overtime and headed to penalty kicks.  The Bavarians were prepared,  practicing for weeks and reading newspaper articles in preparation, they were victorious 4-3.  The clinching penalty was made by Quinn English.

The Bavarians move on now to Regionals in Dayton, Ohio to represent the Bavarian Soccer Club and the State of Wisconsin.   This is the second year in a row they have won the State Cup.

Emerald Cup Results

3-28-10  The U14 Bavarians played The Blitz 96' Navy from Oklahoma in the championship match of the Emerald Cup.  The game was a typical final with both teams playing solid defense with only a few scoring chances throughout the game.  At the end of regulation the score was 0-0.  The final would be decided on penaly kicks.  Unfortunately the Bavarians ended up losing 2-3 in a shootout.

All in all it was a great weekend for the Bavarians giving up only one goal in four full games, that goal was scored on a free-kick.  The facility in Overland Park Kansas City was absolutely phenomenal.  Ten turf fields , all lighted and heated made the playing conditions great.

3-28-10 The U14 Blue Bavarians played their final bracket game vs FC Porto from Kansas City knowing a draw would be good enough to make it to the final.  However, the Bavarians didnt play for the tie and came out quick, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes.  Jack Menard scored the first after pressuring a defender to make a back pass error to the keeper in the 5th minute.  Menard doubled the lead after Jackson Weiss played a good through pass to beat the offsides trap, sending Menard in one on one in the 15th minute. Josh Short completed the scoring as Danny Jarosz played him in beating the offside trap again, final score 3-1.

The Bavarians will play Blitz United 96 Navy at 2:30pm in the championship game.

3-27-10 The U14 Blue Bavarians played Kansas City Premier in their second game of the tournament (and day) and pulled off a tough 1-0 victory.  The goal was scored in the 30th minute by Josh Short off of a long diagonal pass from Quinn English. The Bavarians play FC Porto in their final bracket game tomorrow morning at 7am, the winner advances to the final, FC Porto has two wins as well.

3-27-10 The U14 Blue Bavarians kicked off the Emerald Cup versus another MRL team the Minnesota Thunder White (a team they tied last year 1-1) under less than perfect weather conditions,(pea sized hail and wind). However, the weather didnt stop the Bavarians from coming out determined to get a result. The Bavarians tooka 5 goal lead into the half highlighted by a free-kick by Jack Menard from 25 yards out that was World Class in the upper 90. The second half saw more goals for the Bavarians as the final score was 9-0.

Sereno College Showcase - Arizona
March 7 2010 - Our third match of the tournament was unfortunately canceled due to heavy rain storms.  Unfortunately no re-schedules so thats its from Phoenix.

March 6 2010 - Their 2nd match of the day at the showcase went much better for the Bavarians. They played an all-state team from Montana and defeated them 3-0.  The score was 0-0 at Half-time.  Finally in the 2nd half Quinn Dombrowski scored the first goal of the weekend for the Bavarians.  Aaron Horvat added two more goals assisted both by Max Mead in a five minute span to seal the victory.

March 6 2010 - The Bavarian U16 Team started the outdoor season today in sunny Phoenix Arizona at the Sereno College Showcase.  They opened the showcase against the hosts the Sereno Soccer Club (ranked 2nd in the country at U16's).  Unfortunately playing against the hosts who probably have never played indoor soccer in their life wasnt the greatest draw.  Sereno took a 2-0 lead into the half and doubled that in the second half winning the match 4-0.

Las Vegas Mayors Cup - Results
The Bavarian U15's tied Atletico Santa Rosa from California North 1-1 this morning in the Las Vegas Majors Cup.  Santa Rosa scored early and held their lead until the last three minutes when Steven Henderson scored for the Bavarians off of a free-kick to tie the score 1-1.  Jake Taylor had an opportunity in the closing seconds to take all three points on a breakaway that the Atletico keeper somehow saved, final score 1-1.

The Bavarians tied Real Colorado Olympico 0-0 in thier second game of the day.  With the tie they finish 2nd in their bracket and now move on to the quarterfinals where they play Eclipse Select East 94-95.

The quarterfinals saw another tight battle with our neighbors from Illinois.  The score after regulation was 0-0 which meant penalty kicks would decide the winner.  Tied 3-3 after five shooters, the Eclipse won in the 6th round 3-4.

The Bavarians played Westminster AFC Samba from Colorado in the consolation bracket. The Bavarians came out a little slow after their disappointing penalty kick loss to the Eclipse and fell behind 0-2.   They battled back to 1-2 but gave up a late goal on the counter attack trying to tie the score, final 1-3.

Quotes from coach Coleman below

It was a very well organized tournament with great facilities and competition. I was very pleased with how the team handled themselves on and off the field. For the first time this year playing full sided the team showed some really good stuff. The heart and determination was
there along with some quality of play. We had some hard fought battles and were unfortunate not to get into the semifinals after losing to Eclipse on penalities 4-3.

The team was unfortunate not to come away with a few victories. We had some difficulties putting the ball in the back of the need. Can't win games if you can't score goals! This team takes pride on being difficult to beat which I thought we did a good job of and exciting to
watch, which we will improve on. I learned a lot of what the teams capabilities are and look to build on what we learned this weekend. It is a work in progress and the squad is really coming together to make a run this upcoming season.

A special thanks goes to Lisa Taylor for all her hard work. It would not have been as fun and successful without your help! She is a one woman travel agency.

Of note the Bavarians opening match opponent (Atletico) played in the U15 Final vs Colorado Rapids.
